India won the match against Pakistan yesterday under ICC Champions Trophy 2017. India had made a total of 319 for the loss of three wickets in 48 overs allotted to them due to rain. Pakistan had to chase a total of 289 from 41 overs but the team went all-out by making just 164.

So, let’s take a look on the five big points which we analysed from the match!

Opening Jodi Dhawan-Rohit

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma had opened the innings for India after 18 months and gave India an opening partnership of 136. The pair’s consistent performances were a big reason for India’s victory in 2013 but doubts have been raised to include Shikhar Dhawan due to his inconsistent form.

Ravindra Jadeja – game changer bowler & fielder

Jadeja took crucial wickets of Azhar Ali and Mohammad Hafeez and also effected the run-out of Shoaib Malik through a wonderful direct hit. We can see in over past 2 years, Ravindra Jadeja has grown into one of the most important player in the Indian team. He madly picks number of wickets and also has a reputation for turning games. He is also considered one of India’s best fielders.

Plenty of Pace bowlers

Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Pandya bowled so well and made Pakistan batsmen starve for runs. Umesh took 3 wickets and gave away only 30 runs in 7.4 overs. He was the highest wicket taker for India.

Pakistan is unable to beat India since 2015

Gone are those days when players like Inzamam-ul-Haq and Shoaib Akhtar used to often boss India on the pitch. Years of playing away from home seems to be harmful for Pakistan. Since 2013 the two teams have met in ICC competitions only yet the reality remains that Pakistan haven’t possessed the capacity to beat India since 2015. In yesterday match, Pakistan was completely swept away by India.

Indian Cricket team Captain Virat Kohli

Unlike 2016 Virat Kohli doesn’t seems to be successful with the bat in 2017. He underperformed in the Test series against Australia, and also had a bad form in the IPL with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. But against Pakistan, he didn’t allow them to be on their top after Dhawan was gone. Kohli then built a GREAT 96-run partnership with Yuvraj Singh which led India to a big total in the final overs. Kohli remained unbeaten on 81 off 68 balls.
